Reminder – Proposed Residency Law information tomorrow
05/15/2017
The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) wishes to remind Kahnawa’kehrò:non that an information session on the proposed Residency Law is scheduled for tomorrow evening (Tuesday, 16 Onerahtohkó:wa/May) at the Knights of Columbus Hall.
The meeting is the first of three consecutive meetings planned to address the proposal to remove the sections pertaining to residency from the Kahnawà:ke Membership Law, with the intent to make it simpler to address and administer that law.
The information meeting will start at 7pm sharp. A meeting to request a community mandate to move forward with the law is scheduled for next Tuesday, May 23rd. A third meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 30th; should a mandate be given, this meeting will be the first to begin the process of developing the draft law.
To view a discussion on the differences between the Membership Law and the proposed Residency Law tune in to KTV on Paul’s Cable channels 300 or 399 at 7am, noon, 6pm and 11pm.
