Clinton Phillips attending AFNQL Chiefs Assembly until Thursday

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to inform the community that Ratsénhaienhs Clinton Phillips is attending the Assembly of First Nations of Quebec-Labrador’s (AFNQL) three-day ‘Chiefs Assembly’ being held in Trois-Rivières.

Agenda items include the Provincial Commission of Inquiry; Follow up on the Descheneaux and Landry judgments; First Nations Policing (including the position of the AFNQL on the topic of the Legalization of marijuana); Border issues; Education; and the First Nations Youth Network.

Ratsénhaienhs Phillips has been given the Kahnawà:ke proxy on behalf of Grand Chief Joseph Tokwiro Norton, who is not able to attend.

The Assembly is scheduled to conclude on Thursday at noon.
