06/19/2017
The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to announce the release of the latest edition of the “Corner Office – Chatting with the Grand Chief” podcast featuring the views of Grand Chief Joseph Tokwiro Norton.
Grand Chief Norton spent a couple of busy days in Ottawa recently, with an ambitious agenda. He speaks specifically about his appearance in front of Canada’s lawmakers, where he made it clear that Kahnawà:ke has something to say about legislation currently in the works.
He also provides updates on meetings with representatives of federal Minister of Justice Jody Wilson-Raybould and Minister of Indigenous Affairs Carolyn Bennett, and a meeting on the possibility of creating a national data center in Kahnawà:ke.
The podcast can be accessed by going to the Corner Office page at www.kahnawake.com/corneroffice.
The Corner Office podcast is intended to be a reference tool for the community to gain a better understanding to the rationale behind the Grand Chief’s direction, as well as for the media to obtain quotes. All Corner Office podcasts are archived online for future reference.
