Important reminder from Kahnaw�:ke Waste Management

The Kahnaw�:ke Waste Management Department would like to remind all Kahnawa�kehr�:non to please place only recyclable materials in the new recycle bins. These include empty cans (soup, etc.), glass containers (pickle jars, etc.), paper and paper board products (cereal boxes, public-sac etc.) and plastic containers with the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5,& 7 in the recycling logo triangle (water, margarine, laundry detergent, etc.).

Items such as, but not limited to, bags of garbage, paint cans, empty bags of concrete mix, large metal items, fencing, hoses, pools, large plastic toys, hazardous waste, explosive materials (spray cans), electronics, reusable items and cardboard should NOT be placed in the Recycling Truck. 

A Special Collection occurs every second week for many of these types of items. Please refer to the Special Collection Calendar for more information on the Waste Management Facebook page or by visiting www.kahnawake.com/org/pwu/wastemanagement.

Special Collection Materials need only to be placed along side of the regular recycle bin for collection.
