MCK announces $240,450 feasibility study for multi-purpose building

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) is pleased to announce that it has received confirmation from Canadian Heritage (Canada Culture Spaces Fund) and Secrétariat aux affaires autochtones (Québec – Aboriginal Initiatives Fund) for funding for a major study to be carried out within the community.
The two funding sources will each contribute $120,225 to carry out the feasibility study for the Multi-Purpose Building that will house the Kanien’kehá:ka Onkwawén:na Raotitióhkwa Language & Cultural Center and the Turtle Island Theatre Company.
The proposed location will be adjacent to the Kahnawake Survival School.
The funding will cover the total cost of the study, which is expected to be $240,450.
The community will be continually updated on the progress of the project.
