Pet Micro-chipping & Vaccination clinics this September
09/01/2017
The Animal Protection Department of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke is pleased to announce a Micro-Chipping Clinic scheduled on Saturday, September 23rd from 9am to noon, and a Vaccination Clinic on Sunday, September 24th from 9am to 1pm.
Both Clinics will take place at the new Animal Protection building between the Peacekeeper Station and K103 Radio Station. A veterinary technician will be on-site to perform the service at a cost of $40. Appointments are preferred. However, walk-ins are welcome. Each appointment will require a $20 deposit to be paid in-person at Public Safety or Animal Protection.
Pet owner’s contact information is stored on a micro-chip, which is the size of a grain of rice, which is then inserted under the skin between the pet’s shoulder blades. Please note, the micro-chip is not a GPS for your pet.
It is standard procedure of veterinarians and animal protection officers to check for these micro-chips. Pets that are micro-chipped generally have a higher return rate than those that are not.
For further information or questions, please contact Deidra Whyte at the Animal Protection Department by telephone at (450) 632-0635.
