MCK meets with Quebec Native Affairs Minister Geoffrey Kelley

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) would like to inform the community that a meeting is being held today with Geoffrey Kelley, the Quebec Minister of Native Affairs.

Agenda items include the stalled Relationship between Kahnaw�:ke and the province; the proposed Bill 85 economic development legislation for the A30 and South Shore region; and a discussion on the lack of progress on the remaining (approximately) 200 acres to be returned to Kahnaw�:ke as part of the compensation for the completion of A30 project.

Grand Chief Joseph Tokwiro Norton and Iets�nhaienhs Rhonda Kirby , who holds the Intergovernmental Relations portfolio on behalf of the MCK, will be present for the meeting, along with support staff and technicians.

The meeting is taking place in Kahnaw�:ke.
