MCK meets with Quebec Native Affairs Minister Geoffrey Kelley

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) would like to inform the community that a meeting is being held today with Geoffrey Kelley, the Quebec Minister of Native Affairs.
Agenda items include the stalled Relationship between Kahnawà:ke and the province; the proposed Bill 85 economic development legislation for the A30 and South Shore region; and a discussion on the lack of progress on the remaining (approximately) 200 acres to be returned to Kahnawà:ke as part of the compensation for the completion of A30 project.
Grand Chief Joseph Tokwiro Norton and Ietsénhaienhs Rhonda Kirby , who holds the Intergovernmental Relations portfolio on behalf of the MCK, will be present for the meeting, along with support staff and technicians.
The meeting is taking place in Kahnawà:ke.
