KEPO Field Work at Kanawaki Golf Club
11/02/2017
The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) would like to inform the community that field work will be occurring at the Kanawaki Golf Club weekdays between November 3rd and November 15th.
The MCK is undertaking a Phase II Environmental Site Assessment on these lands to create an environmental profile of the site and investigate the effects of potential environmental hazards such as fuel tanks and the use of pesticides.
The work will involve excavating test pits, drilling monitoring wells, and collecting samples of soils, sediments, and water for laboratory analysis. The Kahnawà:ke Environment Protection Office will be overseeing this work in the field and will be assisted by EXP, an engineering consultant with expertise in this area.
The results of this analysis will be assessed and compiled in a report which will be shared with the community. This report is expected to be complete in the winter of 2018. If you would like to know more about the project, please contact Ratsénhaienhs Carl Horn at 450-632-7500.
