Environmental field work along shoreline

11/29/2017

The Kahnaw:ke Environment Protection Office (KEPO) would like to inform the community that field work will be occurring along the western shoreline of the community (from the Chateauguay River to the entrance to  Recreation Bay) between November 29th and December 5th, weather permitting.

KEPO is undertaking a study to assess the extent and causes of erosion that has occurred along this shoreline and develop solutions to ensure the long-term stability of the land base.

This is a continuation of work started earlier in November and will involve flying a drone along the near shoreline to determine elevations along the shoreline for mapping purposes. This work was postponed earlier due to weather conditions.

KEPO will be overseeing these activities in the field. If you would like to know more about the project, please contact Patrick Ragaz, Environmental Advisor / Project Coordinator at 450-635-0600.
