KLCC announces Election Law Stakeholders Consultation meeting for mandate to amend the law

The Kahnaw�:ke Legislative Coordinating Commission (KLCC) would like to inform the community that a date has been set to conduct a Community Stakeholders Consultation where Kahnawa�kehr�:non will be asked for:

1.    A mandate to amend the Kahnaw�:ke Election Law
2.    Approval of the Purpose of the Kahnaw�:ke Election Law
3.    Selection of three (3) Community Representatives to sit on the Technical Drafting Committee

The meeting will take place on Tuesday, 19, Tsoth�hrha/December 2017 at the Golden Age Club from 6 pm to 8:30 pm.

The proposed amendments are currently in the 30-day community feedback period, which concludes on Saturday, 16 Tsoth�hrha/December 2017. To review the proposed amendments to the law click here.

Should approvals be received for the above three requests, the first Hearing on the proposed amendments will be held in the New Year.
