Chiefs in Ottawa for AFN Special Chiefs Assembly

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) wishes to advise the community that Iets�nhaienhs Kahsennenhawe Sky-Deer is in Ottawa to participate in the three-day Assembly of First Nations Special Chiefs Assembly taking place from today to Thursday.

Grand Chief Joseph Tokwiro Norton will attend on Wednesday and Thursday. MCK Chief Political Advisor Winona Polson-Lahache is also attending the meetings.

The theme of this gathering is �Our Languages, Our Land, Our Future.�  Minister of Crown-Indigenous Relations & Northern Affairs Canada Carolyn Bennett and Minister of Justice Jody Wilson-Raybould will be speaking at this afternoon�s session.
