MCK Election Law Stakeholders Consultation set for next Tuesday

The Kahnawà:ke Legislative Coordinating Commission (KLCC) would like to remind the community that the Stakeholders Consultation for the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke Election Law will take place on Tuesday, 19 Tsothóhrha/December 2017 at the Golden Age Club. The meeting will begin promptly at 6pm and is scheduled to end at 8:30pm.
The Agenda is as follows:
- Explanation of reasons for the proposal to amend the Law
- Question: Does the community give the Mandate and approve the Purpose to move the proposed amendments through the Community Decision Making Process?
- Selection of three (3) Community representatives to sit on the Technical Drafting Committee
Should time permit, the community has the option to immediately begin the First Hearing to discuss and deliberate the proposed amendments for decision.
The proposed amendments are currently in the thirty (30) day Community Feedback process, which concludes this Saturday, 16 Tsothóhrha/December 2017. They can be viewed at www.kahnawakemakingdecisions.com .
