Annual Christmas Bird Count in Kahnawake December 16th

The Kahnaw�:ke Environment Protection Office (KEPO) would like to inform Kahnawa'kehr�:non that Kahnaw�:ke will once again participate in Bird Protection Quebec�s annual Christmas Bird Count tomorrow, Saturday, December 16th.

Two teams will begin at sunrise continuing until late afternoon, covering specific areas in the community.

The Inland Team (Catherine Russell, Alison Hackney, and Jeff Harrison) will be in the areas of:
Annabelle Beach, Wigwam Beach, Johnson�s Beach & Dell Road
St. Isidore Road including Kanawaki Golf Club, Caughnawaga Golf Club, Mohawk Hills Golf Course, and fields at the intersection of Hwy 30
Old railroad tracks

The Seaway Team (John Hodges, Peter Mitchell, and David Smith)
North Wall of the St. Lawrence Seaway from the St. Catherine locks to the end of the Kahnaw�:ke land base.

The teams have been instructed to stay on the main roads described above so as not to disturb homeowners or private properties.

Kahnaw�:ke has participated in the bird count for many years and supports this initiative which gathers valuable bird population data. For further information, please contact KEPO at 450-635-0600 or email environment.protection@mck.ca.
