Kanien’keháka of Kahnawake Law Second Hearing resumes next Tuesday

The Kahnawà:ke Legislative Coordinating Commission would like to advise the community that the fourth meeting of the Community Decision Making Process Second Hearing for proposed amendments to the Kanien’kehá:ka of Kahnawà:ke Law (formerly known as the Kahnawà:ke Membership Law) will take place on Tuesday, 15 Onerahtohkó:wa/May 2018 at the Golden Age Club.
The agenda will be as follows:
- Composition and powers of the Community Review Board
- Application for Recognition
- Adopted Children
- Responsibilities of Kanien’kehá:ka of Kahnawà:ke
- Kanien’kehá:ka of Kahnawà:ke Pledge
- Suspension of Entitlements
- Revocation of Entitlements
- Renunciation
- Regulations
- Transitory Provisions
The Hearing will begin promptly at 6:00pm and end at 8:30pm. Copies of the Draft Law and Records of Discussion for previous meetings are available for review at www.kahnawakemakingdecisions.com.
