Applications for Community Initiatives Fund of Kahnawą:ke now available

The Community Initiatives Fund (CIF) of Kahnawą:ke is pleased to announce that application forms are now available online at www.kahnawakfund.com for eligible entities who wish to propose projects to improve the socio-economic conditions within the Territory. Projects should promote positive and sustainable initiatives to increase the quality of life for community members as a collective in the areas of education and learning; language and culture; health and wellness; and/or social economy. Eligible beneficiaries include, but are not limited to, Grassroots organizations; Community organizations; Non-profit organizations; and Causes/Mobilizations.
Sessions to assist interested parties with the application can be organized, said CIF Coordinator Charleen Schurman. In fact, it is strongly recommended that first-time applicants seek assistance, as the application process is quite extensive.
The initial allocation for 2018-2019 funding is $500,000. Applicants should use only the application form provided on the CIF website, and supply information relevant to the grant being requested. All sections of the application form need to be completed for your application to be considered. All submissions require a signed letter of support from your board or advisory committee indicating they are fully aware of your application to the CIF.
Completed applications and required documents can be emailed to cif@kahnawakefund.com or printed and mailed to PO Box 359, Kahnawą:ke Mohawk Territory, J0L1B0, or hand delivered in a sealed envelope to the main reception desk at the Mohawk Council of Kahnawą:ke. The deadline date for applications is June 29, 2018, at 4pm. Applications will NOT be accepted after the deadline.
