Suspects charged in connection with Shooting

The Kahnawake Peacekeepers wish to inform the community that Joshua McComber (1993-05-14) and Quaid Diabo (1992-02-21) have been charged with Attempted Murder using a Firearm on a local male in an incident that occurred on the afternoon of Friday, May 25th on River Road.
Both men have also been charged with the following:
- In committing an assault on the victim, did endanger his life
- With intent to endanger the life of any person, did discharge a firearm at the victim
- Intentionally discharged a firearm into or at a place, knowing that or being reckless as to whether another person is present in the place
- Did use a firearm in a careless manner
- Did point a firearm at the victim
- Did carry or possess a weapon for the purpose of committing an offence
- Did possess a firearm without being a holder of a license
- Did transport firearms contrary to regulations
- Did possess a non-restricted firearm knowing that they were not the holder of a license
- Were an occupant of a motor vehicle in which they knew there was a non-restricted firearm
There was an objection to their release, and both suspects remain in custody. A local female was released on a promise to appear. She faces charges of Aggravated Assault, and the investigation is ongoing and further charges may be laid.
The victim, Gaven Mayo, is recovering in hospital.
