Total Fire Ban in Effect Tioweroton and Kahnawake

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke Public Safety Unit, in collaboration with the Kahnawake Fire Brigade wishes to inform the community that a fire ban is in effect within the territory, including Tioweró:ton.

The possibility of a forest fire is currently rated at extreme across Quebec and open fires in Kahnawà:ke and Tioweró:ton is banned as a safety precaution.

“With the dry weather conditions there has been a ban right across the province,” said Fire Chief David Scott. “It’s prudent that we act accordingly to avoid any potential losses.”
