Truck Ban on Mercier Bridge during rush hours to start July 3rd
06/29/2018
The Mohawk Council of Kahnawą:ke (MCK) has been informed by the Ministčre de Transports du Quebec that a Heavy Vehicle Ban will be implemented during the morning and afternoon rush hours on the Mercier Bridge. Beginning Tuesday, July 3, trucks with three (3) axles or more and Tractor-Trailers will be banned during the following times:
- 5am to 9:30am towards Montreal and;
- 3pm to 7pm towards Kahnawą:ke, Monday to Friday
However, smaller ′cube type′ trucks and delivery vans will be permitted access. The ban has been issued in an attempt to alleviate the heavy traffic due to the Work Blitz on the Mercier Bridge.
The MCK reminds the public that these works are subject to change due to weather conditions, operational constraints or work progression and that it does not take part in the scheduling or cancellation of such works.
