MCK files criminal complaint with Peacekeepers

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) wishes to advise the community that it has filed a criminal complaint with the Kahnawake Peacekeepers in relation to the ongoing assessment of the MCK Housing Department.

A situation regarding discrepancies in payments made at the MCK Housing Department came to light last month. Although the operational and financial assessment is still ongoing, the MCK believes that the seriousness of the circumstances warrants a criminal investigation.

While the Housing Department remains functional, those making payments on mortgages or rentals must do so at the cashier at the main MCK office.
