The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke Public Safety Unit and the Kahnawake Fire Brigade wish to inform the community that the fire ban, in effect within the Territory and Tioweró:ton since June 27, has been lifted.
“Dry weather conditions caused a ban right across the province,” said Arnold Lazare, Director of Public Safety. “Recent rains have helped alleviate the situation, but we still recommend residents remain prudent when having an open pit fire.”
For more information, please contact the Kahnawake Fire brigade (450) 632-2010. To report fires in Tioweró:ton, contact a Caretaker at the main cabin or call (819) 321-3375.
