Community-Based Consultation Reports now available
08/03/2018
The Public Safety Commission, in conjunction with the Peacekeeper Services Board, would like to inform the community that Community-Based Consultation Reports are now available for viewing on the Public Safety page at www.kahnawake.com .
In both 2015 and 2017, community-based consultation projects were launched to gauge public perception and knowledge about crime and crime prevention initiatives to assist the Peacekeeper Services Board and Chief Peacekeeper to implement various strategies around community-based policing initiatives.
All efforts are aimed to reduce crime and promote greater trust between the community and the Peacekeepers.
Both reports will be presented in Winnipeg next week in the First Nations policing component of the Canadian Association of Police Governance conference as a best practice for community engagement.
