Housing Assessment nearly complete

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) would like to inform the community that a preliminary report on the Housing Assessment was presented to Chief & Council earlier today by MCK Executive Financial Officer Paul Rice.

A full report (including the amounts of money involved) will be presented at the September 24th, 2018, Council meeting, where certain decisions will be required from Chief & Council. The MCK expects to make an executive summary of the assessment public that week.

�Paul Rice and his team have done a very thorough job in their assessment,� said Rats�nhaienhs Carl Horn, who now holds the Housing file among his responsibilities. �Mr. Rice informed us that the preliminary report is approximately 90% complete. This will be our most important tool to help us rectify this unfortunate situation.�

While many Housing clients have been in contact with the Housing Department, others have yet to contact the assessment team to discuss their files and help rectify their accounts. Those persons are urged to contact the Housing Department at 450-638-0500 to set up an appointment as soon as possible.
