Lift Station pump failure � Public Works

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) Public Works Department would like to inform the Community that, because of a faulty pump at the lift station, emergency operations are currently taking place, forcing untreated wastewater to be pumped into the creek between the Kahnawake Business Complex and the Tunnel.

The emergency measures are in place to prevent the water systems in homes in the Clay Mountains area from backing up.

Special parts have been ordered and the repairs will be completed as soon as these parts are received. The MCK is asking the Community to refrain from using the area for recreation purposes as a precautionary measure.
