Corner Office podcast with Grand Chief Norton- Kahnawake facing new assimilation threat

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) wishes to announce the release of a new edition of the “Corner Office – Chatting with the Grand Chief” podcast featuring the views of Grand Chief Joseph Tokwiro Norton.

The S-3 amendments to the Indian Act could mean over a million new Status ‘Indians’ added to the current rolls. In Kahnawake, we could see potentially between 35,000 to 60,000 additions to the Mohawks of Kahnawake federal registry. On this edition of ‘The Corner Office’ we speak to Grand Chief Joseph Tokwiro Norton for his take on the potential impacts, and what the MCK is doing about an issue that is definitely a cause for concern.
