Annual Christmas Bird Count in Kahnawake December 15th

The Kahnawà:ke Environment Protection Office (KEPO) would like to inform Kahnawa′kehró:non that Kahnawà:ke will once again participate in Bird Protection Quebec’s annual Christmas Bird Count on Saturday, December 15th.
Two teams will begin at sunrise continuing until late afternoon and cover specific areas in the community.
The Inland Team (Alison Hackney, Daniel Rowe, Jane Zdansky, John Schwinghamer and Arabelle Sauvé (KEPO) will be in the areas of: - Big Fence
- Tekakwitha Island
- Green spaces along the seaway
- Old railroad tracks
- Tower road
- 207 Highway area, including Kanawaki Golf Club, Caughnawaga Golf Club and Lafleur Golf Club
- Common lands near Highway 30
The Seaway Team (David Smith, John Hodges and Joel Bonin)
- North Wall of the St. Lawrence Seaway from the St. Catherine locks to the end of the Kahnawà:ke land base.
The teams have been instructed to stay on the main roads described above so as not to disturb homeowners or private properties.
