Flu Shots still available and encouraged
01/30/2019
The Kateri Memorial Hospital Centre (KMHC) and the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wish to remind the community that Flu Shots are still available and strongly encouraged at the KMHC.
Simply present yourself at the KMHC Reception after 9am with your Medicare and Kateri Memorial Hospital cards and indicate that you wish to receive a Flu Shot. You will be asked to fill out a simple form and directed to the proper personnel. To expedite the process, call ahead (450-638-3930, local 2220 or 2262) to inform Reception that you and/or your children would like a Flu Shot, so your chart may be available upon arrival.
There is no cost for the Flu Shot. Children under 14 years old must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who can give consent for the vaccine or an adult with written consent from a parent.
The maximum effectiveness of the vaccine is two weeks after vaccination.
Hand washing is one of the key ways to prevent the acquisition of the flu. If you think you have the flu, please consult the KMHC web page or Facebook page for the self-care decision guide to determine if you need to seek medical assistance.
