Winter storm watch for Kahnawą:ke

02/12/2019

The Public Safety Unit is advising the community that Environment Canada has issued a Winter Storm Watch in effect for the South Shore, including Kahnawą:ke, for up to 40 centimeters of snow, beginning this afternoon (Tuesday) until Wednesday, February 13th.

Motorists are advised not to venture out unless necessary, as Heavy snowfall results in difficult driving conditions. Additionally, vehicles should not be parked on the road to ensure snow plows can effectively carry out snow clearing operations during, and after the storm.

Please note that weather is always subject to change and all information related to potential upcoming weather is intended to be taken as a warning and to be prepared.

For more information on how to prepare for storms, please visit www.kahnawake.com/beprepared or contact the Public Safety Unit at (450) 632-0635.
