Animal Protection Survey results available

The Public Safety Unit of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to inform all Kahnawa′kehró:non that results from the survey on animal-related issues in Kahnawà:ke are available for viewing. The survey was a part of community consultation seeking direction for proposed amendments to the Kahnawà:ke Animal Control Law.

"This was a very important and enlightening survey," said Public Safety Unit Analyst Tonia Williams. “One key finding was that significant number of participants made it clear that enforcement issues and the lack of capabilities of the officers are a major concern. It was important to see how that issue impacts the quality of life of the community."
 
The survey was conducted both online and in-person during November and December 2018.
