Caution - Be attentive of roadway hazards
02/26/2019
The Roads Department of Public Works is advising road users to be cautious of hazardous potholes on the roadway while melting and freezing weather conditions fluctuate.
Road crews are removing snow and ice and repairing many of these hazards as they occur. However, when the weather fluctuates, these temporary fixes deteriorate rapidly, and longer-term repairs cannot take place due to the unavailability of hot asphalt materials.
In the meantime, drivers should exercise caution, especially in the following problematic areas:
- The Old Malone Highway from Route 132 to the CPR Tunnel - The 132 and 138 Service Roads - Old Chateauguay Road
Lastly, drivers are urged to be attentive to the roadway, as any damages that result from hazards are the responsibility of the motorist.
