Housing Clients strongly urged to complete Affidavits

The MCK would like to advise clients who made cash payments to the Housing Department that were not applied to their accounts, that to correct their account balances they must complete the affidavit process. About 40-50 individuals have come forward to complete interviews with the MCK, but not nearly as many affidavits have been completed. The affidavit is the final step in the process to obtain a correction as a result of the Fraud. The pattern of delinquencies for the past ten years have been analyzed, and the affidavit is to distinguish between accounts that are delinquent and those that were legitimately defrauded. The MCK would like to encourage clients to complete the affidavit as soon as possible so their balances may be corrected in time for fiscal-year-end March 31, 2019. The process remains open-ended and will continue until all client accounts have been addressed, but the goal is to have as many as possible done before March 31, 2019.
