MCK accepts Oath of Office from newly-elected Frankie McComber

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to inform the community that Ratsénhaienhs Frankie McComber has made the formal declaration of Oath of Office, which was accepted by Chief & Council at the duly-convened Council meeting held on Monday, 4, Enniskó:wa/March 2019.
The Oath of Office includes eleven (11) clauses, among them the acknowledgement that the primary duty of a Council Chief is to serve the community; accountability to the community; disclosure of conflict of interest; acting in good faith; and acting within the scope of proper authority.
The Oath of Office also includes the acknowledgement that Chief & Council will be subject to the actions and measures set forth in the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke Disciplinary Measures Regulations.
Ratsénhaienhs McComber began his term of office on Monday, 25 Enníska/February 2019, following a by-election held to fill the Council seat vacated when Lloyd Phillips resigned to take another position within the MCK.
