Reminder - Draft Kahnawake Residency Law Hearing TONIGHT

The Kahnawà:ke Legislative Coordinating Commission (KLCC) would like to remind the community that the Community Decision Making Process Hearing for the draft Kahnawà:ke Residency Law (“the Law”) will take place tonight at Kahnawake Shakotiia’takéhnhas Community Services. The meeting will begin at 6pm and close at 8:30pm.
Discussions will continue on the Residency Permit specifically, and any other sections of the Law that the community has questions on, up to and including Obligation of Approved Kahnawà:ke Residents/Permit Holders; Ineligibility/Revocation criteria; and Complaint Driven Evictions and Removal Processes.
The Law, which has been classified as Urgent, is available for viewing by clicking this link .
Persons who are planning to participate in or attend the Hearing are being urged to examine the draft Law in advance of the meeting to familiarize themselves with the draft.
