Formal Reading completed, Kahnawake Residency Law goes for enactment on Monday

The Kahnawà:ke Legislative Coordinating Commission (KLCC) would like to inform the community that the Formal Reading of the Kahnawà:ke Residency Law (“the Law”) was completed last evening, setting the stage for the expected Enactment of the Law at the duly-convened Council meeting scheduled for this coming Monday, 17 Ohiarí:ha/June 2019.
The Certification of the Process took place immediately following the completion of the Formal Reading. The Reading of the Law into the Record will be made available for viewing on the KLCC website (www.kahnawakemakingdecisions.com).
This Law was developed using the Community Decision Making Process (CDMP) “Urgent Process.” Once enacted it will come into force when the applicable Regulations are completed and approved.
Please note that once a Law is enacted using the Urgent Process, it must re-enter the regular CDMP within one year.
