Grand Chief Hands Chief Federal Negotiator �Letter of Displeasure�

Grand Chief Michael Ahr�hrhon Delisle Jr. met this afternoon one-on-one with Seigneury of Sault St. Louis Chief Federal Negotiator John Lemieux in Montreal. This was a follow up to the most recent meeting between negotiation teams for Canada and the Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke, which Chief Delisle has described as �very disappointing.�

�A letter was hand-delivered to Mr. Lemieux based upon our displeasure in the outcome of last week�s meeting,� he said. �The letter sets out the discussion points and parameters that we expect Canada to respect in order to maintain a relationship.�

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke and Canada have been in negotiations regarding the Seigneury land grievance since 2005.
