KEPO Planting Event on Kateri Tekakwitha Island and Green Space

The Kahnawą:ke Environment Protection Office (KEPO) wishes to inform the community that excavation work will take place between Monday, September 16 to Wednesday, September 18, 2019, on Kateri Tekakwitha Island, and at the Green Space next to the lacrosse rink. From Monday to Wednesday 6:00am to 4:00pm, local excavators will prepare the soil for KEPOs Community Sustainability and Climate Change Project tree planting event.
Several hundred trees and shrubs will be planted by community members and volunteers on Kateri Tekakwitha Island, Thursday, September 19 and Friday, September 20 from 8:00am to 4:00pm, with more planted at the Green Space next to the rink on Saturday, September 21 from 8:00am to 4:00pm.
For safety reasons, the areas will be cordoned off once excavated. Please supervise your children and pets closely, and exercise caution in these two areas.
