Hunting restriction in Ile aux Plaines in St Lawrence River near L�ry

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) wishes to advise community members that a hunting restriction will be in effect in the Ile aux Plains island area in the St. Lawrence River between L�ry and Maple Grove, across from Ile Perrot.

There are studies being conducted on Ile aux Plaines and nearby smaller islands by Environment & Climate Change Canada and Canada Wildlife Services. In order to ensure a safe work site a hunting restriction has been declared.

The only exception is this Saturday and Sunday, September 21 and 22, where hunting will be permitted.



Community members who hunt in the area (see attached map) should be aware of the restriction. Anyone with questions or concerns can speak to Nits�nhaienhs Ross Montour or Tonya Perron.
