Dates Announced for By-Election

The Office of the Electoral Officer (EO) is pleased to announce several important dates for the 2019 Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke By-Election.
• Nomination Day – Saturday, October 5, 10am to 12 noon at the Kahnawà:ke Services Complex (those who intend to run should pre-verify their eligibility with the Office of the Kahnawà:ke Kanien’kehá:ka Registry)

• Special Advanced Poll – Saturday, October 12, 10am to 12 noon at the Golden Age Club (Letters of intent should be submitted to the EO by Monday, October 7 at 12 noon)
• Meet the Candidates Night – Wednesday, October 9, beginning at 7pm at the Golden Age Club
• Election Day – Saturday, October 19; Polls open 9am to 3pm at Karonhianónhnha Tsi Ionterihwaienstáhkhwa
The Electoral Officer would also like to remind the community of the importance of having the required documents and signers for the nomination process ready on Nomination Day.
