Pumpkins, Hay and Leaves great for composting

The Kahnaw�:ke Waste Management Department is pleased to announce that the 2019 Organics Collection Service will take place on the same day as your Compost Collection for November. Halloween pumpkins, haybales, and leaves wanted.

Community members are asked to use only paper bags and ensure they contain only clean leaves (no garbage or animal droppings). Plastic bags and bags that have contents other than leaves contaminate the finished compost material.

Please consider this alternative to throwing fallen leaves, pumpkins and hay bales in the garbage, as collected organics will be composted at the Transfer Depot and re-used rather than wasted in a landfill.
