Fieldwork on Hydro-Line 2

The Kahnaw�:ke Environment Protection Office (KEPO) wishes to inform the community that a contractor hired by Hydro Quebec will be undertaking fieldwork along the Hydro Line 2 right-of-way starting on November 21st, and lasting up to two weeks, weather dependent.

The contractor will be collecting soil samples along the line to assess soil quality adjacent to the hydro towers. Samples will be collected using an ATV and a jackhammer drill. A representative from KEPO will be present at all times during this work.

Soils that have been contaminated by the activities of Hydro Quebec will be removed in conjunction with the hydro line.
