Ratsénhaienhs Phillips in Toronto for Nuclear Waste meeting

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) wishes to advise Kahnawa’kehró:non that Ratsénhaienhs Clinton Phillips is in Toronto today to participate in the Anishinabek Nation-Iroquois Caucus Alliance (“the Alliance”) quarterly Nuclear Waste Working Group meeting.

Agenda items include the welcoming of new participants, update on Youth participation on the Working Group, and an update on Kebaowek (Wolf Lake) Chief Lance Haymond’s Intervenor status at the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission.

The Alliance’s Nuclear Waste Working Group was created in 2017 to discuss combined efforts to raise awareness, educate and advocate on matters/concerns regarding matters of nuclear waste within or relating to the territories of the Alliance members.
