MCK meeting in Ottawa today with two Federal Ministers

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) wishes to inform the community that Grand Chief Joseph Tokwiro Norton, Nitsénhaiehns Clinton Phillips and Kahsennenhawe Sky-Deer, and Chief Political Advisor Winona Polson-Lahache will meet in Ottawa today with two Federal Ministers.

They will meet with Minister of Indigenous Services Marc Miller at 10am, followed by a meeting with Minister of Justice David Lametti at 1pm.

Grand Chief Norton & Ratsénhaienhs Phillips are in Ottawa for the Assembly of First Nations ‘Special Chiefs Assembly,’ which concludes tomorrow (Thursday). Ietsénhaienhs Sky-Deer and Chief Political Advisor Polson-Lahache will only be in Ottawa for the two meetings and will return immediately afterward.

Grand Chief Norton and Ratsénhaienhs Phillips are expected to return to the office on Friday, December 6th.
