The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) wishes to offer its sincerest condolences on the passing of Warren Lahache to the family, friends, and former colleagues of the former Peacekeeper and Ratsénhaienhs (elected Council Chief).
Mr. Lahache served as an elected Council member from 2006 to 2009. He was best known for serving with the Kahnawà:ke Mohawk Peacekeepers for over 25 years, which included a stint as the Chief Peacekeeper. He was also the first Director of Community Safety (now the Public Safety Commission) with the MCK.
“I have known Warren and his family for many years,” said Grand Chief Joseph Tokwiro Norton. “We are all shocked and saddened by his sudden passing at such a young age. He was a man who accomplished a lot in his career, including taking on two very challenging roles – as Chief of the Peacekeepers and Council Chief. Our thoughts are with his family at this very difficult time.”
