MCK congratulates PK Chief Zacharie on Order of Merit

12/17/2019

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) wishes to congratulate Chief Peacekeeper Dwayne Zacharie on his recent induction into the Order of Merit of the Police Forces.

Chief Zacharie was inducted by Governor General Julie Payette on October 31, 2019.

“We’d like to offer our congratulations to Dwayne Zacharie on the honor bestowed upon him,” said Ratsénhaienhs Frankie McComber, who is the Lead on the Public Safety Portfolio. “This reflects the high regard in which he is held across the country, not only by Aboriginal police services but by all police forces. I’m sure he’d be the first to say that this is an honor that should be shared with all of the Kahnawà:ke Peacekeepers.”

The Order of Merit of the Police Forces was established in 2000 to recognize a career of exceptional service or distinctive merit displayed by the men and women of Canadian police services.
