01/13/2020

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) wishes to advise the community that the Indian Day Schools settlement Claims Process has been launched as of today.

This means that eligible Class members will be able to begin submitting claims for compensation for harms suffered while attending federal Indian Day Schools. Those eligible will have two-and-a-half years to submit their claim – beginning today and ending on July 13, 2022. Claim forms are now available at MCK main reception and online at www.indiandayschools.com .

While this is not an MCK initiative, the MCK is committed to ensuring Kahnawa’kehró:non are kept up to date on any and all developments in this matter. A webpage (www.kahnawake.com/indiandayschool) has been created to assist community members who need any type of information on this matter, including correct contact information, websites, and more.
