Launch of Kahnawake911 central info hub for emergency service-related situations

03/12/2020

The Public Safety Division of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK), Kahnawake Mohawk Peacekeepers and Kahnawà:ke Fire Brigade wish to announce the launch of Kahnawake911, a new central information hub for emergency service-related situations on Facebook.

“We are currently in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Lloyd Phillips, the Commissioner of Public Safety. “The emergency service providers are working together to ensure that correct up-to-date information is made available to community members on this new Kahnawake911 page. This includes preventive measures to help limit the spread of the virus, measures being taken by Kahnawà:ke organizations that serve the public, and general updates.”

Search ‘Kahnawake911’ to find it on Facebook. Turn notifications ‘on’ if you wish to be notified of any posts.

Important: for health-related information, call Quebec Info-Santé at 811.

“It is important that we all work collaboratively to make the most efficient use of our resources during this challenging time,” Phillips concludes. “Today’s launch of Kahnawake911 is an important tool to reassure our community that they will receive proper and useful information in a timely manner.”
