Notice - Draft Regulations for the Kahnaw�:ke Residency Law

The Kahnaw�:ke Legislative Coordinating Commission wishes to advise the community that the Technical Drafting Committee for the Kahnaw�:ke Residency Law (KRL) has completed its consultation with the community to draft Regulations for the KRL. 

The KRL Draft Regulations are now available for viewing for a 30-day period at  www.kahnawakemakingdecisions.com, the Community Decision Making Process (CDMP) website. The related Consultation Report is also available on the website.

After receiving Community approval through the CDMP, the Kahnaw�:ke Residency Lawwas enacted at a duly convened Council meeting held 17, Ohiar�:ha/June 2019 and passedviaMohawk Council Resolution #1/2019-2020. 

Methods of obtaining final input (Phase II � Input Process) from the community is now limited due to the current suspension of public gatherings because of COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, community input will be accepted by 1) Completion of the feedback form on the CDMP website; 2) written memos or emails; or 3) Response to questions through phone calls. The community will be kept advised, through the CDMP website, when the KRL Regulations are approved.
