KEPO site visit on Tekakwitha Island Friday, May 8th

05/07/2020

The Kahnawake Environment Protection Office (KEPO) would like to inform the community that they will be hosting a site visit on Tekakwitha Island on Friday, May 8th, between 11am and 4pm. The visit is to allow our selected contractor, Rice Mohawk Landscaping, to finalize planning for the Recreation Bay restoration project.

The site visit will include eight participants total, including three from outside of the community. The COVID-19 Task Force has authorized these three external participants as the project has been deemed ′essential′ to the Community by the Mohawk Council of Kahnawake. Appropriate distancing measures and other COVID-19 precautions will be followed. Three KEPO staff will also participate in the site visit.

KEPO has been working to ensure that restoration activities are ready to begin as soon as this can be safely accomplished.

For more information, please contact KEPO at environment.protection@mck.ca or through KEPOs Facebook page .
