MCK and Kahnawake Marina sign new Lease Agreement

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) wishes to advise the community that a new Lease Agreement was signed yesterday between the Kahnawà:ke Marina and the MCK.

No details of the Agreement will be made public but Ratsénhaienhs Clinton Phillips, the Lead on the Lands Portfolio, said that the community’s interests were well protected.

“This was a challenging file to complete, and Director of Lands Martin Stacey and I went to great lengths to ensure that the best interest of the collective was respected,” said Ratsénhaienhs Phillips. “I’d like to thank the Kahnawà:ke Marina’s executives for their hard work, diligence and good faith.”

The Kahnawà:ke Marina is located on approximately six (6) acres of Common Land at the western tip of Tekakwitha Island.
