Task Force offers condolences

The Kahnawà:ke COVID-19 Task Force wishes to offer its sincerest condolences on the passing of Stuart Phillips at the Kateri Memorial Hospital Centre this past weekend.

Mr. Phillips is the father of Lloyd Phillips, the Commissioner of Public Safety. During the pandemic, Lloyd had mentioned his father during the Daily Updates on a few occasions as a means of showing understanding and solidarity when discussing the challenges of families being unable to visit parents/grandparents/friends residing in long-term care.

Several family members have been working directly with the community during the current pandemic including son Lloyd and daughter Ann-Marie (Task Force); grandson Tanner (Kahnawà:ke Fire Brigade), granddaughter Ashlan and daughter-in-law Wendy (Kahnawà:ke Shakotiia’takéhnhas Community Services).

The Task Force wishes to offer condolences to the entire family, extended family, former colleagues and friends of Stuart as he enters the Spirit World.
