Dog Virus Alert

The Animal Control Department of the Community Protection Unit (CPU) is advising all Kahnawa’kehró:non dog owners of a virus known as Parvo, which is threatening dogs in the community.
The Animal Control Department is currently disinfecting the pound, which will be quarantined for 7-8 days. “This is the fourth occurrence that the Animal Control Department has had with the virus” says Animal Control Officer, John Deere. “We are asking all dog owners to ensure their dogs are tied, or kept indoors at this time. Also, we ask owners to keep their dogs’ vaccinations up to date.
The virus which could be fatal to dogs, is passed through the feces of canines.
